Let’s talk about social media…it’s everywhere these days and if you own a business, you have to be on social media. Thing is…it gets time consuming and there are SO MANY platforms. Which should you use? How often should you post? What the heck do you post about? And what is everyone talking about when it comes to algorithms and needing to figure them out so your posts can be seen? The questions can literally be endless and the whole thing simply daunting.
I started blogging over three years ago and in that time I’ve not only grown my blog following to over 19K views/month across all social media channels, but I’ve also managed social media accounts for my my side hustle (My Simplified Wine ONEHOPE) and some Bay Area companies. I’ve learned from some of the best and stayed on top of the ever changing ways of how to get your posts seen.
Choosing the proper social media channels are key for your business. Facebook is a great avenue and a must have for most businesses. If you have a business or product that is eye catching, then Instagram is a great way to go. If you have links to your products, then Pinterest is fabulous…especially if your target audience is women! There’s YouTube but you have to create your own video content and that isn’t everyone’s style. And then there’s LinkedIn…no it’s not just for your professional profile anymore! People are following businesses on it now. Lastly, you have Yelp! and FourSquare for people to check in at your business and leave reviews.
Ok, I’m out of breath just typing all of your options but that’s just the start of what’s out there. After you’ve identified what social media channels to use, you’ll need to create content. The more original, the better. Speaking of being original…you’ve got to work on your hashtags!
I love this stuff and I want you to love it and embrace it too, but managing it isn’t for everyone which is I’m offering to help you. I’ve created social media management packages but not everything is one size fits all, so we can work together to create something that fits your business and your budget.
