I’m so excited to share with you the world’s first smoked tequila…Humito by Maestro Dobel. A smoky tequila…what the heck is that? It’s smoked silver tequila which means mesquite wood was used to make it.
Humito is no ordinary tequila: it is the world’s first smoked silver tequila and is a fusion of history, tradition and hand crafted experience. At Maestro Dobel, they pride themselves on 11 generations of tequila making, and are once again redefining the category with the creation of Humito.
The final bright, clear spirit holds an aroma with forward notes of encino and mesquite wood, and fruity floral tones from the blue agave. The taste brings a delicate bouquet of sweet caramel flavors with maple and honey top notes, the essence of the fresh cut wood, and a finish of roasted nuts and vanilla.
Dobel was created by and named after Juan Domingo “Dobel” Beckmann, the eleventh-generation leader of Jose Cuervo tequilas, in collaboration with maestro tequileros Marco Anguiano and Luis Yerenas. It all started in 2008.
