It’s summer time and what better time than now for a tropical drink to serve your guests or to just enjoy in your own backyard?! I was recently introduced to Don Q Rum and my oh my you can say delicious!
Don Q has a wide variety of rums and this fun concoction uses Don Q Añejo and Don Q 151 Rums. It packs a mean punch, but you can add more pineapple juice if you need to lessen the “trouble”.

Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Don Q Añejo
- 1 oz Don Q 151 Rum
- 1.5 oz Pineapple Juice
- 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
- 4 Mint Sprigs (muddled lightly)
- 1 Pineapple Wedge (garnish)
- 1 Mint Sprig (garnish)
Instructions
- Muddle three mint sprigs lightly in a shaker Add Don Q Añejo rum, juices, simple syrup and ice, then shake vigorously until well chilled. Strain into an ice filled highball glass. Float with Don Q 151 rum. Garnish with mint sprig and pineapple wedge.
Notes
- You can buy simple syrup at the liquor or grocery store or simply make it at home. Dissolve 8 oz sugar in 8 oz hot water.
