Wine Wednesday: Columbia Crest H3 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon

If you’re like me, you’ve heard of Columbia Crest wine, but I’d never heard of their label H3…Horse Heaven Hills. It’s highly rated by Wine Spectator for the best value, tastes great and is super reasonable! At $15 a bottle, it’s perfect for an every day wine.

I enjoyed this wine since it struck me as something perfect to have on a cooler, rainy day and that was exactly what we had going on in the Bay Area. It’s warm and rich. The winemaker says, “This bold Cabernet opens with flavors of black cherries and blackberries with a touch of currants and vanilla, complemented by earth and mineral notes. Deep berry flavors lead to a soft tannin cocoa finish.” There are also hints of barrel spices with a heavy oak influence.

I’m excited to try their Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc next!
