Foodie: Biscuits and Gravy

If you’re like me, you love comfort food. Then again, who doesn’t?! I was looking for a good biscuits and gravy recipe to make last weekend and found one that I have to share. It’s easy to make, quick and tastes perfect! I even cheated and used Pillsbury biscuits! The recipe is from Self Proclaimed Foodie.

Ingredients
  1. 1 pound sage pork breakfast sausage
  2. 3 tablespoons butter
  3. 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  4. 3 cups milk
Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium high heat, cook the sausage until brown and crumbly. If excess oil, drain while keeping a solid tablespoon of the sausage oil in the pan.
  2. Add the butter and stir well until melted.
  3. Sprinkle sausage with flour, stir, and allow to cook for several minutes.
  4. Add the milk and stir. Continue stirring occasionally over medium heat until gravy thickens, 5-10 minutes.
Notes
  1. I used Pillsbury biscuits. Bake according to the instructions on the label.
