What else could you possibly need for a happy hour with friends besides great food? How about a bottle of great wine that is a conversation starter?! Enter Plungerhead Sirah!

We experienced Plungerhead’s awesome Zinfandel over Thanksgiving so we were definitely excited and ready to try another varietal from them. This Sirah was phenomenal! One sip was all it took for the rave reviews to be shared. It’s dark in color and boasts hints of fig jam, cherries, blackberries, vanilla and toasted coconut. The tannins weren’t extensive, but definitely present bringing chocolate and espresso flavors to the forefront.

I made a cheese platter that went on for days with some of our favorites; brie, Syrah soaked creamy Toscano, English cheddar, and a blueberry goat cheese. Talk about a heavenly happy hour!

Plungerhead Sirah retails for around $13, but definitely tastes like a $20+ bottle. It’s definitely a new must-have in our collection of go-to wines and should be on your list as well!
